sharing a contemporary classic lifestyle through fashion

Extra, Extra!

Hey y’all! This weekend, my friend Dimitri and I had the opportunity to go see our friends perform at our local theater’s production of “Newsies” The Musical. This musical is based on the actual events of the Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. Of course there is your added romance and unrealistic galavanting around the city, but it is actually quite an informative show.

Being one of my favorite musicals of all time, we decided to get tickets as soon as they went on sale. Let me just say, this may have been one of the best performances of this musical that I have ever seen. The cast was a majority of high school students and the dancing and vocals blew me away. I knew that my friends in the show were talented but they blew me away.

If any of you get the opportunity to go see a local production, I encourage you to do so. It means so much more to see a show with people you may know than to pay hundreds of dollars to go see it downtown. These local theaters give students a chance to shine and put on incredible shows, giving them an opportunity they may have not had before. You never know, you may actually enjoy the show more than you though you would!

Xoxo, Ris

Me and Dimitri before the show started. We were so excited to finally be able to see it together!
This is my friend Gabe who played “Romeo” in the show. After listening to him talk about it for the past month I was so happy to see him kill his part.
Here was my outfit for the night. I absolutely LOVE getting all dressed up to go see a show!
Here’s the links to my outfit: Shirt, Jeans, Shoes, Earrings, Purse (similar style)
And of course the strikingly handsome Dimitri. Doesn’t he look stunning in his super stylish “fit” that he picked out?
